Purpose of this Report
This report highlights the key achievements of the Gandhi Memorial Society (GMS) from 2017 to 2024. It outlines fundraising presentations, outreach efforts, and awareness programs, while also demonstrating to members, donors, and supporters that GMS can effectively advance its goals with their continued support.

Name of the Organization: Gandhi Memorial Society (GMS)
Established: December 17, 2017
Status: 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization (IRS-approved)
Mission Statement:
To spread Mahatma Gandhi’s message of truth, nonviolence, and love to the world, while also illuminating the lives of leaders such as Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Nelson Mandela, and others who followed in Gandhi’s footsteps.
Vision:
A world where the principles of truth, nonviolence, and love are integral to daily life.
Core Values:
Truth, nonviolence, love, peace, equality, and social justice.
Methods of Implementation
The purpose of GMS is implemented through the following activities:
- Raising awareness of truth, nonviolence, and love in everyday life.
- Exhibitions and sales of books and materials on Gandhi, MLK, Mandela, and others.
- Celebrating and commemorating events in Gandhi’s life.
- Screening films on Mahatma Gandhi’s life and teachings.
- Publicizing activities through websites, Facebook, WhatsApp, and local media.
Executive Summary
Since its founding in 2017, the Gandhi Memorial Society has organized impactful events and programs to spread Gandhiji’s timeless values. These initiatives have especially engaged students and youth, creating awareness of truth, nonviolence, and love as guiding principles for social change.

2018
- Exhibition of Books and Posters (Jan 29, 2018 – Columbus Metropolitan Library)
Showcased books and posters highlighting Gandhi’s principles. - Exhibition of Books and Posters (May 26, 2018)
Observed Gandhi’s death anniversary, honoring his legacy. - Free Movie Screening – “Gandhi” (Oct 4, 2018 – Drexel Theater, Columbus, OH)
Attracted a large public audience. - Free Screening – “A Force More Powerful”
Promoted principles of nonviolence and social change.
2019
- 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi (Sep 2019)
Included an essay competition with topics such as:- The relevance of Gandhi’s principles in today’s world.
- Using Gandhi’s nonviolence to address global issues.
- Essay Contest (Dublin School System)
Encouraged students to reflect on Gandhi’s teachings. - Postmark Canceling (Oct 2, 2019)
U.S. Postal Service unveiled a Gandhi commemorative stamp.
2020–2021
- Speech Essay Contest (Apr 25, 2021)
Virtual contest for children aged 6–25: “Mahatma Gandhi—His life and what I have learned from it.”
Supported by Consulate General of India. - 152nd Birth Anniversary of Gandhi (Oct 2, 2021)
Celebrated with cultural programs and reflections.
2022
- Honoring Dr. Rajmohan Gandhi (Sep 8, 2022 – The Ohio State University)

Celebration with bhajans and inspirational talks.

Included a fancy dress competition for children, celebrating India’s Republic journey.
