प्रसिद्ध गांधी चिंतक और कर्नाटक के वरिष्ठ सर्वोदय आंदोलनकारी ई.पी. मेनन ने आज 3 अप्रैल, 2026 को गांधी भवन, बेंगलुरु में आयोजित विश्व शांति के लिए एक दिवसीय उपवास कार्यक्रम में पहुंचकर अपना पूर्ण समर्थन प्रदान किया। यह कार्यक्रम ग्लोबल गांधी, यूथ फॉर ट्रुथ, खुदाई खिदमतगार और कर्नाटक गांधी स्मारक निधि के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में विश्व भर में चल रहे युद्धों, हिंसा और मानवीय संकटों के विरुद्ध शांति, सौहार्द एवं अहिंसा का संदेश मजबूत करने के उद्देश्य से आयोजित किया गया था। कार्यक्रम में शामिल होते हुए ई.पी. मेनन ने कहा, “आज के समय में युवाओं द्वारा शांति के लिए उपवास रखना अत्यंत सुखद है। जब समाज में चारों ओर हिंसा बढ़ रही है, तब ऐसे सामूहिक प्रयास बहुत महत्वपूर्ण हैं। हजारों लोगों की भीड़ इकट्ठा करने से बेहतर है कि बीस लोग भी सच्चे दिल से एक साथ उपवास पर बैठें।” उन्होंने कहा कि अहिंसा को मजबूत करने के लिए यदि युवा बेंगलुरु से तेहरान तक पदयात्रा निकालते हैं, तो वह उनका पूरा समर्थन करेंगे तथा कर्नाटक गांधी स्मारक निधि भी इस अभियान के साथ खड़ी होगी। मेनन ने इस पहल की सराहना करते हुए दो युवाओं को पदयात्रा के लिए आर्थिक सहयोग देने की घोषणा की।
Gandhian thinker E.P. Menon supported world peace fast
Gandhi thinker and senior Sarvodaya movement activist from Karnataka, E.P. Menon, extended his full support today on 3 April 2026 by attending a one-day fasting programme for world peace held at Gandhi Bhavan, Bengaluru. The programme was jointly organized by Global Gandhi, Youth for Truth, Khudai Khidmatgar, and the Karnataka Gandhi Smarak Nidhi. It aimed to strengthen the message of peace, harmony, and non-violence against the ongoing wars, violence, and humanitarian crises across the world. While participating in the event, E.P. Menon said, “It is extremely heartening to see the youth observing a fast for peace in today’s times. When violence is increasing all around in society, such collective efforts are very important. It is better that even twenty people sit together for a fast with a sincere heart rather than gathering thousands of people.” He further stated that if the youth organize a peace march (padayatra) from Bengaluru to Tehran to strengthen non-violence, he would extend his complete support to it, and the Karnataka Gandhi Smarak Nidhi would also stand firmly with this campaign. Praising this initiative, Menon announced financial assistance for two young people to undertake the proposed padayatra.
